 Solstice at Machu Picchu

This is a frame I took at Machu Picchu, the famed Inka ruin in Peru, about midday on a misty summer solstice. We had taken the narrow gauge railway down the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River after leaving Qosqo just after dawn. I was shooting through a 24mm Nikkor lens, and the detail in the transparency is so crisp that in a large print you can clearly see several sheep grazing in distant parts of the ruin.
